Ah, work on my "Casidilla" (you know, Mexican food) continues. Casie is almost complete - down to her little pink collar, ears at attention. Just a great little dog. I have the big rock to work on, adding leaves and maybe some other "rocks" - I might even have some bead "chips" that I could use for rocks - I'll have to look.
I am starting to work on and think of another project that I have been invited to join. I know that some members are not keen on seeing pictures until everyone gets started, but I have decided on a few items. I have some shapes and colours that I will be working with.

I like your last shape. I love those fabric colors... and I'm one that likes to see photos of projects. It makes it more interesting to follow the thought process. I plan on showing/telling about my project.
Liz I love the colors you picked out. I will be watching see your progress. I have some ideas rolling in my head. I can't wait to start workin on the journal
Thanks Ladies - I have pleanty of the fabric left if you want it. I just needed a small corner. Let me know. The inspiration shape? A drink coaster that one of my doctors brought me from Syria!!
Ah, I assume this is for the BJP and that doesn't influence me so I'm glad to look. I like that you are doing an unusual shape!
As luck would have it, I finally decided today to stop trying to draw what I wanted and be totally improv on this first one. So far, it is working like a charm!
Mary - your different months could be all different and that could be the common feature of all of them! That would be an unusual idea.
Oh the Puppy is coming along beautifully! I love the progress shots! What a great picture!!! We were camping this weekend and went on a few good hikes. Saw some great rock cliffs and parts of the Canadian Shield that remind me of your picture.
I also really like the idea of your hexagon? for the BJP! What a great idea! I don't think out of the box enough sometimes. I went for the 4x4 square and started it this weekend, cause I was inspired by the scenery. Your material is so beautiful!!
cheers, Denise
Thanks Denise - Casie's picture was taken somewhere between Thunder Bay and Sault Ste Marie, so the rock formations could be very similar to what you saw. I do love it up there (at least in the summer)!
I must be psuedo-Canadian (or Canadien) as my family came from Norway through Canada to North Dakota.
Seeing everyone's BJP coming along is going to be wonderful!!!
I hadn't thought of that part, but I'm sort of doing it as I go. Planning too much on a small shape rather feels stifling. I tend to work bigger in my bead embroidery so this smaller size that I'm working with is sort of stretching me as it is. Who knows, that may end up being my theme. Whatever I let rip that month! Tee Hee! ;-)
Cassie really came to life! Luv this piece.
