First month has been finished - pretty much. I am going to sew moose charms at the bottom. Now this month wasn't a stretch for me. This was my start. I wanted to start with my comfort zone - where I am and what I know. I thought that this was going to be a good place to start.

It's WONDERFUL Liz - I love the moose and all the colors. What size are your 'pages'? Thanks for posting the link at BJP, without the posts with links - I don't know that I'd find everyone.

Hey Liz,
I love the Moose too. I don't see any here in metro Chicago.
I know what you mean about the baseline/comfort zone. Great Job!

Wow--finished already! The moose is very cool. I really like the colors and textures.
That was fast!
It's so colorful. I like the shape of your project page.

I started in my comfort zone, too. It's a very different one from yours but that's not the point. I've found, over time, that getting the momentum going is an important part of creative expansion. For me, it's easiest to achieve if I allow myself to begin in familiar ways and branch out from there.
Cool! Very coloured! :)
Hi Liz,
You're fast! I love the colors and shape and since I love moose, well :o) I worked a summer in Grand Rapids, and loved it so much I almost moved there! Thanks for sharing :o) I'll be sharing on BJP since no blog (so no photos until Sept)
Lillian BJP in Washington :o)
What an awesome baseline! Everything... shape, moose, background, fringe to be... it's thrilling, Liz!
It's like an intricate quilt piece. Lovely, Liz!
Aha!!!! Just as I thought! teehheee! I love it! I love the graduated colours in the moose - very well done and I also love the way you created almost a basket weave effect with the background - in all those wonderful colours!
Cheers, Denise
i really like this--do you have moose around where you live? I'm from Alaska--we ate moose and deer every year--my father hunted---so we never ate
"store bought meat"---(chicken was a big treat)--I'm sure it helped them to raise 4 kids on one person's salary, as my Mom stayed home. But I also liked seeing the occassional moose, when I lived for 2 years up around Fairbanks, Alaska. The background colors really make this an interesting piece...
What an amazing mosaic of colors! Love the shape too!
Thanks for all the comments!
Aurora - I've live all my life in metro Detroit - except for three years in Europe. I saw my first out of the zoo moose in Canada the summer that I turned 13. I've had a love affair with them since then.
Teresa, Acey - it was an easy jump off point from my comfort zone to the start of my next square. Yup, I started and it's out of this world.
Thanks again to all the comments (Danke zu Tally)!
Hey Bad Liz, I should have known you'd get your June page done in no time flat! Your moose is mahvelous, Dahlink, can't wait to see what you come up with next!
cheers,
Linda from the Bead Cruise
